Welcome to the website for Southern Indiana 's Babe Ruth Leagues. We hope to use this site to provide information to the various Babe Ruth and Cal Ripken divisions. We will be adding to the site as we grow and find it necessary. Dear Leagues Presidents and Website Visitors,

Our tournaments for Southern Indiana Babe Ruth Leagues (SIBRL) begin July 2, 2009, with the Cal Ripken division. (See, 2009 DISTRICT SITES).

SIBRL Babe Ruth districts begin July 9, 2009, as do the 8’s and 9’s invitational tournaments. (See SIBR Tournaments)

With Babe Ruth Leagues, Inc. (BRL) new online registration to charter and to input league rosters, there have been a few glitches, but across the nation over 66% of all leagues completed the electronic chartering. This is an outstanding number, considering the new software did not go into action until February 2009.

In the following months BRL will fine tune their software program, and I am sure 2010 will bring about a larger percentage of leagues using the electronic chartering and roster input, which is a great advantage to leagues in many ways.

If you are involved in any of the tournaments identified, I wish you the best of luck in 2009. Maybe I will see some of you as I tour some of the tournament sites.

Please note the new link, SIBR Leagues, on the left for a list of all the chartered BR and CR leagues in Southern Indiana.

ATTENTION: Please pass on the news that the Cal Ripken coaching certification is now good until the coach no longer coaches instead of just 3 years. So, if a coach passes his test this year (2008) and decides to coach for the next 10 years his certification will be good without having to renew it during that time.
Also, if a coach has passed any other coaching certification, then that is a valid substitute for the Cal Ripken course (Contact your District Commissioner with any questions about this). An example of this is the certification test that Bloomington requires for their coaches.
