Tournament Check List

Southern Indiana Babe Ruth Leagues

The following check list will help avoid tournament problems. These guidelines allow each league, president, and team coaches to have a good experience.

1. Babe Ruth League, Inc., Letter of League Eligibility to be signed by State Commissioner.

2. All documents must accompany teams as they advance in tournament play. (See below)

3. Secure proper dates and directions to game locations.

4. Apply for league charter before deadlines in order to be eligible for tournament play. (May 15)

5. League schedules to be filed with Babe Ruth League, Inc.

6. Team rosters to be filed with BRL, Inc. and proper Babe Ruth officials before deadlines.

7. League president must certify the tournament team roster. (Signature of president on rosters)

8. Coaches and players competing in tournaments must be listed on league rosters during the season and on tournament roster.

9. Proper league accident insurance and league liability insurance as outlined by BRL, Inc., company name and policy numbers (Policy must be in hand or team will be eliminated)

10. Team composition is to be a minimum of 12 players, with maximum as outlined by BRL, Inc.

11. Proper selection of registered coaches (Certification required starting 2008)

12. Proper birth document (Certified birth certificate or BRL, Inc. cards)

13. Secure Official Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken shoulder emblems for new tournament uniforms.

Tournament documents needed by all teams:

The visiting team manager must place in the custody of the host tournament officials the following documents prior to the start of competition.

¨ Birth documents (Certified) or records as specified by Rule 0.04, paragraph 1 for each of the tournament team players.

¨ Certificate of coverage of group accident insurance policy and policy number

¨ Certificate of coverage of league liability insurance policy and policy number

¨ Tournament team roster certified by the league president

¨ Letter of League Eligibility

¨ Consent for medical treatment form (Completed and signed by parents)

¨ Tournament champions letter of eligibility. (Starting at state level of play)

¨ A 5X7 or 8X10 color or black and white team photograph with identification. This begins at Ohio Valley Region tournament --at least three photos will be needed.

All questions regarding tournament eligibility should be directed to the district commissioner.
